President Donald Trump’s former White House chief of staff, Mick Mulvaney, said that his former boss will “absolutely” run for the Presidency again in 2024 or 2028.
Mulvaney, who resigned as a special envoy to Northern Ireland, following the chaos that was unleashed at the US Capitol by supporters of President Trump on Wednesday, and has no doubt that he’ll seek the presidency again in 2024.
The Irish Times reported Mulvaney, describing his former boss as a “very high-energy 74-year-old” adding:
“I would absolutely expect the president to stay involved in politics and would absolutely put him on the shortlist of people who are likely to run in 2024,”
He also called the Democrats implying that Trump was staging a coup “crazy” talk.
“It should not surprise anybody that there are lawyers and that there are lawsuits and it is not a tacit admission of loss, any more than it is a declaration of victory,”
President Trump Commits To An “Orderly Transition” of Power
In an earlier interview with CNBC, the former South Carolina congressman, who also served as Trump’s budget director for three years, promised Trump will be committed to a peaceful transfer of power.
“They [team Trump] are going to fight this out, and they should.
If the process runs, and I expect it to run, and at the end of that process Joe Biden’s the president, you can absolutely guarantee a peaceful transition of power.
I just hope the same is true on the other side.”
As Mulvany had predicted, the day after watching the chaos that transpired on Capitol Hill on Wednesday, President Trump announced that he’s committed to an “orderly transition” of power.
Due to Twitter locking down his personal account. President Donald Trump released a statement through his communications adviser Dan Scavino Twitter feed, shortly after Joe Biden was certified by Congress as President-Elect.
…fight to ensure that only legal votes were counted. While this represents the end of the greatest first term in presidential history, it’s only the beginning of our fight to Make America Great Again!”
